Last night, we witnessed something extraordinary.
What began just eight weeks ago with hesitant voices and quiet confidence, transformed into a showcase of bold, courageous, and deeply insightful speeches. Our second cohort of the GLF Young Speakers Network stood proudly before a packed room – and they did more than speak. They inspired.
From feminism and the pressures of school to racism, knife crime, gratitude, and the very question of morality, these young speakers tackled the topics that shape their lives and our society. Each speech was a reminder of the power that lies within young voices when they are given space, support, and the confidence to speak their truth. It was, quite simply, mind-blowing.
The Young Speakers Network is not just a programme – it’s a launchpad for the next generation of changemakers. Through professional training, one-to-one mentorship, and paid speaking opportunities, we empower young people to find their voice and use it to drive positive change. Last night was proof that with the right support, anything is possible.
To every adult who joined us, we say thank you. Your presence, your encouragement, and above all, your willingness to listen matters more than you know. It’s not easy for young people to speak up in a world that often tells them to be quiet – but knowing that their voices are heard, respected, and valued makes all the difference.
Finally, to our young speakers: you showed us what courage looks like. You shared your truths with passion, honesty, and strength. You are not just the future – you are the now. And we are proud to stand beside you.
Here’s to the power of young voices. Here’s to creating spaces where they are always heard.
